Trekking in Nepal
Most of the Nepal Trekking will oscillate between 1000 meters to 3000 meters but the trek to Everest base camp will reach 5545 meters. Most of the time you will remain within the altitude range 1500 to 2000 meters. It is important to remember that 4000 meters in Nepal is not same as in Europe and America as the country is much closer to the equator. Trek in Nepal can be possible half day to over a month. A short trek up to Nagarkot to see the sunrise and sunset and some snow mountain from far. It takes three hours to four hours from bhaktapur while the trek to Everest base camp will take two week to three weeks. The treks usually consists of a series of ascents and descents walk five or six hours on the day. Best Nepal trekking season are October and November. At this time visibility will be clear and the weather mild. March, April and may are other best trekking Time in Nepal. Tour and trek can be done during December, January and February also but it can be very cold. Trek is not advisable between mid June to early September when monsoon rain make the trail slippery but it can be possible in the upper part of the annapurna circuit’s Marfa area.
